Well tomorrow is my last day as an attorney, and that ends... something.
I'm proud of having done it, and what an interesting path it has been, and I have mixed feelings about it being over. Some aspects of the law I love, others I loath. I look forward to the possibilities before me though with hope and enthusiasm.
Even if the financial world does seem to be caving in around our ears as we move ;-).
Rachel is making the last home-made dinner we will have until our new place, and I have printed off a huge number of places we could rent when we get there.
We also have a laundry size list of things to do before we leave, but we have time yet.
So here's to the last day of Court tomorrow, and here's to victory.

Rachel - Party and Renegade Sale
We had a great time on Friday night. All the people we really spent time with in Hattiesburg came out for our going away happy hour. It was a blast!! The biggest response to the news we are moving to San Francisco is either one of 2 statements: 1. "Is Shawn going with you?" Response: "What the F**K?" 2. "Have you ever been to San Francisco?" Response: Again, "What the F**K?". Of Course Shawn is going and we have been...who are these mystical people who ditch their spouses and move across the country to a city they have never been to???
However, the next morning at 6:30AM scavengers caught me moving the cars and wanted to start digging through our goods before the renegade garage sale started at 7Am. I had not even had coffee yet. The garage sale was technically against our neighborhood covenants. It figures. I bought and made some awesome signs to go up at various locations; torn down with in 20 minutes. Well, the ad was already in the paper. What were they going to do sue me? Ha! We actually made out with over a $1000 in sold stuff! We wrapped up about 11am.

Rachel - I just read the above...
So what a surprise! I have been talking about the blog and possibly the creation of a video blog for about 2 months. And, Shawn, finally set it up! You have no idea how sweet that is to me....it's all in the little things that I find makes my marriage so wonderful. And, we are excited! I am excited about my get together tonight at 5pm, I am excited to have all of the excess junk out of the house and into another owners house as of Saturday morning GARAGE SALE!!!, I am excited to have BOTH of my parents visit on Sunday, I am excited to finish packing, I am excited to see the moving truck drive up, and we drive off...on to our big adventure. Stay tuned!
Shawn - First Post
Well we have been saying we are going to do it and here it goes. This is for Rachel and I to post things that are going on in our big adventure to moving to San Francisco/building a new life out there.
First off, remember that our e-mail has changed
Shawn: shawn.lowrey@gmail.com
Rachel: rachel.lowrey@gmail.com
(can you believe we did that accidently?)
Anyway, we are having the big garage sale on Saturday at 7:00 to get rid of the unwanted items. In addition Rachel's last day at U.S.M. is today and my last day is next Wednesday in front of Judge McPhail.
We're both also excited about Janice, Rachel's mom coming down on sunday to help out.
On other fronts, we're both nervous/excited/happy all at the same time. Rachel's new bad ass job starts on the 20th of this month, so we have to get our things picked up, then beat them out to SF to find a place to stay before it gets there. Like I said, should be an adventure.
Well, that's all for now, we'll write more later.
Finally, for her to read later, and for posterity, I want to say how proud I am of her for getting the job in SF that enabled us to move. I love my wife so much, but I'm not sure which I feel more these days, love or admiration for her courage, bravery and general competence.
Love you to death baby.
